U-N-I: Before There was Love

Unlike most So Cal rappers, Inglewood natives U-N-I don't rap about the gangster lifestyle which is stereotypical of Los Angeles rhymers, they talk about this on one of the "Press Play Show Interlude's" with a bit more detail.

"Before There Was Love" has a very mellow sound, reminiscent of old school hip hop. Most of the tracks are simple soul beat samples which accent their flows very well, and gives the songs a distinctly west coast sound. The mix tape sounds like Snoop Dogg's funkadelic beats and rhyme pattern had a baby with the fun loving exuberance of The Cool Kids.

Overall the mix tape is an amazing display of young talent on the left coast. I hope to see more of U-N-I in the future.
