The Week That Was

There's probably no better praise than saying that a rock band echoes Pink Floyd. I tend to hold Floyd highest in esteem of all the classic rock bands, above Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. They accomplished moments of pure musical beauty which have not been replicated since. The intro to the "Wish You Were Here" album is a surreal experience.

While most of The Week That Was' debut album is pretty standard indie rock fare, almost bland during moments, "It's All Gone Quiet" echoes Roger Waters in an almost eery fashion. It's a little hard to describe. Listen for yourself.
